![]() Tourist InformationIn the North of Holland, in the province of Groningen, you find Nienoord Castle. Situated in lovely 19th-century surroundings the national carriage collection is shown. The museum organizes various exhibitions, demonstrations and events. Since the opening of the museum in 1958 many families, organizations and museums donated their carriages to the Nationaal Rijtuigmuseum. The museum preserves the original materials and gives advice to carriage-owners how to keep and restore their coaches and sleighs in the original shape, colours and materials. Adjacent to the museum are more tourist attractions, like a large playground, swimming pools and a camping site. The picturesque surrounding landscape invites you to explore the region on foot, by bike or on horseback. Information Centre Nienoord helps you to find your way in this authentic part of Holland.
