Prins Albert
Dutch
phaeton, typical for the province of Groningen.
Phaeton
Swift, light vehicle used for pleasure driving and exercise purposes. Since the second half of the 19th century it had two parallel seats (usually on the same level) and could accomodate two or more persons. The drivers seat was often protected by a folding top. It frequently had a cut-under body to allow the wheels to turn more sharply. A fashionable owner-driven carriage, the phaeton retained its popularity until the end of the carriage era.
