Hammercloth
An ornamental form of drivers-seat. It is made of cloth or velvet and lined with heavy material, then laid up in ornamental folds and embellished with gimp, fringe and tassels. Its use was limited to carriages of the court, nobility and other high-ranking persons.
Hearse
Carriage carrying the coffin to the grave. It has usually a roof supported by pillars and is ornamented by draperies. Sometimes the body is enclosed with glass in the sides and ends.
